My short story, “Bontua”, was published in African Voices Magazine; my literary debut for fiction.

This fictional piece is autobiographical in nature and was inspired by memory and language. I am thrilled to see it find a home in African Voices. Having my words in journals that feature voices from the diaspora means a lot to me as I continue my journey as a writer.

Thank you to my editor Peter Mountford who rooted for this story; and to Aaron Perez and Carolyn Butts for believing in it enough to publish it.
